Job summary

Uponor Corporation, based in Apple Valley, MN, seeks a Sr. Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development for existing and new products and to drive durability, cost, and sustainability improvements.

Role requires onsite work at North American Manufacturing Headquarters at Apple Valley, MN. You will collaborate across Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain, lead projects under $300k, and act as a subject matter expert in packaging within the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Packaging, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, etc.) required.
• 5 years of experience in designing/qualifying packaging in a manufacturing environment required; 7 years preferred.
• Experience with SolidWorks and EPDM.
• Experience with complex automation equipment and knowledge of machining/fabrication processes.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Manufacturing & Controls Engineering to integrate solutions and solve complex engineering problems.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide packaging solutions for existing and new products on automation equipment.
• Enhance existing packaging materials/processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and continuous improvement.
• Develop new packaging materials/processes supporting sustainability, innovation and business growth.
• Define and execute formal testing procedures for evaluation and qualification of packaging materials and processes.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to integrate packaging solutions into launches and supply chain.
