Job summary

Uponor is seeking a Sr. Packaging Engineer to own evaluation and development of packaging solutions for North American manufacturing. You will collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to ensure durable, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging that complies with regulatory requirements and withstands harsh conditions.

You will lead packaging projects (<$300k) and act as a subject matter expert, driving Lean initiatives and working onsite at Apple Valley, MN headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Packaging, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, etc.) required.
• 5 years of experience in designing/qualifying packaging in manufacturing environment; 7 years preferred.
• Experience with SolidWorks and EPDM.
• Experience with complex automation equipment and knowledge of machining/fabrication processes.
• Lean Manufacturing principles understanding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide packaging solutions for existing and new products on automation equipment and robotics.
• Enhance packaging materials/processes to support Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Continuous Improvement.
• Develop new packaging materials/processes aligned with Sustainability, Innovation, and Business Growth.
• Define and execute testing procedures for packaging materials and processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain for seamless integration.
• Lead projects or small teams (<10 people; budget < $300k) to develop and qualify packaging solutions.
