Qualifications

6+ years experience as a packaging engineer or senior packaging engineer.
Proficiency in Artios and Adobe Creative Suite; SolidWorks 3D CAD and Keyshot rendering preferred.
Familiarity with TOPS or CAPE software.
Understanding of corrugate, paperboard, and other packaging materials and processes.
Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes that impact packaging design.
Effective networking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead special projects as assigned by the Packaging Manager.
Assist in prioritizing projects based on scope and urgency.
Troubleshoot packaging designs and materials with supply chain partners; provide feedback to improve design practices.
Lead supply chain continuous improvement efforts for packaging performance and process efficiencies.
Serve as a technical resource for packaging performance, scalability, manufacturability, and supply chain optimization.
Apply cost-optimization principles to packaging design decisions balancing customer experience and sustainability.
Develop innovative and visually appealing structural designs that are easy to set up and unbox.
Designs that align with packaging briefs, sustainability goals, and brand guidelines.
Design and build structural die lines using ArtiosCAD for paper substrates and corrugated materials.
Build physical mockups using automated cutting table for evaluation and testing.
Document design process, material specs, assembly instructions, and testing procedures.
Release/modify files for design specs via PLM system.
Provide technical training to increase process efficiency.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, Supply Chain, Merchandise Sourcing, and Packaging Production Engineering.
Identify and implement sustainable packaging solutions reducing material usage.
Run packaging engineering change processes across the organization.
Handle packaging material and structural specification portfolios to support cost and quality.
Stay informed on packaging industry innovations and trends.
Serve as a technical resource for packaging performance and supply chain optimization initiatives.
