Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to join the Packaging Engineering team. The role focuses on lifecycle management of packaging systems within a GMP environment, supporting manufacturing on the shop floor and mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable supply, drive continuous improvement, and maintain high quality standards across commercial production. This hands-on position emphasizes problem-solving and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree required.
• Masters degree with 2 years of engineering, materials science, or industrial design experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience in engineering, materials science, or industrial design.
• Associates degree with 8 years of experience.
• High school diploma with 10 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support to packaging operations.
• Investigate deviations, non-conformances, and packaging-related events; perform root cause analysis and CAPAs.
• Improve packaging line performance to reduce downtime and waste.
• Evaluate and qualify packaging materials for manufacturing; manage material changes and supplier issues.
• Develop and execute test protocols; produce technical assessments for changes.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QA, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Regulatory teams.
• Prioritize multiple activities to meet production schedules and business needs.
