Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Engineer - Packaging to apply engineering principles for accurate design, qualification and implementation of primary and secondary packaging components and related systems. The role supports global supply, new product introductions, and partnerships under Combination Product Operations (CPO).

You will collaborate across Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Process Development to ensure compliant, efficient packaging processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering required or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of engineering experience.
• Experience creating and modifying engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks or comparable tools.
• Familiarity with GMP, pharma/biotech manufacturing and packaging is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for manufacturing and packaging operations and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Perform distribution testing per ASTM D4169 and related standards (ISO, TAPPI, USP, EP).
• Serve as a technical resource for equipment, systems, and packaging components evaluations.
• Monitor process performance, analyze data, and recommend improvements for quality and efficiency.
• Lead testing and evaluation of secondary packaging materials and document findings.
• Build and approve engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Illustrator, SolidWorks.
