Job summary

Aalo Atomics, based in Austin, TX, seeks a Senior Packaging Engineer to own packaging strategy, design, validation, and lifecycle improvements for critical hardware. You will ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and QA teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in engineered packaging design or related regulated fields, strong CAD/GD&T skills, and a track record of delivering robust packaging for high‑value equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Packaging, Manufacturing, Industrial Design, or related field.
• Experience designing packaging for complex, high‑value, fragile, heavy, or safety‑critical hardware.
• Strong knowledge of shock, vibration, drop, compression, and environmental testing.
• Proficiency in CAD, technical drawings, datum schemes, GD&T, and tolerance‑stack analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging projects from requirements through design, validation, release and implementation.
• Design protective packaging, reusable containers, dunnage, shipping fixtures, racks.
• Apply CAD and GD&T to packaging designs and validate through testing.
• Define requirements based on hardware, handling, transportation, storage, and regulatory needs.
• Plan and execute packaging validation (shock, vibration, drop, etc.).
• Collaborate with Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, QA, and Operations.
• Prototype, qualify, and scale designs with suppliers and fabricators.
• Create packaging specifications, drawings, test plans, and BOMs.
• Track KPIs and drive continuous packaging improvements.
