Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates in Franklin, TN seeks a Senior Packaging Engineer to lead innovation, sustainability, and productivity in packaging across Mars Petcare North America. You will guide cross-functional teams, drive new package development, and standardize processes from concept through commercialization.

Responsibilities include leading high-impact projects, developing robust multi-site specifications, and mentoring junior engineers to advance scalable packaging solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging, Engineering, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field.
• 5-7+ years experience on packaging projects and technology development.
• Experience with packaging designs and machinery scale-up.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead and manage high-impact packaging development projects across major portfolios.
• Advanced Specifications: Develop complex specifications for multi-site projects, ensuring packaging robustness.
• Innovation & Scale-Up: Translate technology to full-scale machinery with partners and global teams.
• Risk & Opportunity Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate regional or site-level risks; coach junior staff.
• Associate Development: Mentor and support the technical growth of junior Packaging Engineers.
