Job summary

Mars is seeking a Sr. Packaging Project Engineer to lead end-to-end packaging equipment projects in North America, driving sustainability and 3–5 year technology plans. You will partner with R&D, procurement and site operations to deliver projects that advance Mars’ sustainability goals.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, 7+ years’ experience, and a proven ability to manage large capital projects and cross-functional teams. Expect travel 25–50% and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering; MBA considered a plus.
• 7+ years’ experience in a comparable technical position in food, beverage, pharma or related industry.
• Track record in capital projects greater than $5M.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage contractors.
• 25-50% travel requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide innovative Packaging Engineering solutions that drive a competitive advantage
• Accurately scope and estimate capital projects that are technically feasible and meet plans
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Commercial, Finance to define and achieve objectives
• Ensure delivery of scope, timeline, budget, and cash flow per Engineering Work Process
• Onsite management of contractors and OEMs during installation and commissioning with a safe work environment
• Lead commissioning, validation, and startup of equipment
