Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Packaging Engineer Sr to lead packaging design initiatives within the Packaging Engineering Team in Grande Prairie, TX. You will design, develop, and test packaging solutions that protect, display, and handle products across programs.

This role requires collaboration with IPTs, suppliers, and the Shipping team, ensuring regulatory compliance (DOT, ICAO, IMDG) and supporting logistics coordination. A strong technical background in packaging engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of shipping practices and related documentation.
• Understanding of Federal DOT regulations (49 CFR Parts 171-180).
• Familiarity with SPI and POP testing concepts.
• Ability to use standard enterprise systems and Microsoft Office.
• Education/Experience: 1-2 years in packaging/transportation engineering; associate degree or technical training.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IPTs, suppliers, and Shipping to gather packaging requirements.
• Develop system- and subsystem-level packaging designs including SPI.
• Ensure compliance with regulations (DOT, ICAO, IMDG).
• Support POP testing and compile data for reports.
• Evaluate new packaging materials and recommend cost-effective options.
