Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie, TX, seeks a Packaging Engineer to create innovative, cost‑effective packaging that protects products through their lifecycle and enhances brand presentation. You will blend material science, mechanical design, sustainability, and regulatory knowledge to develop containers, cartons, pallets, and secondary packaging.

You will generate packaging concepts with CAD tools, define specifications, and ensure alignment with cost targets, supply chain, and sustainability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to train and certify in packaging/shipping processes.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR HAZMAT transportation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Generate packaging concepts using CAD based on product specs.
• Define material thickness, cushioning, barriers, sealing, labeling, tolerances.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to embed packaging early in development.
• Plan and execute physical and simulation tests to validate designs.
