Job summary

Claire’s is seeking a Packaging Designer in Jersey City to own creative direction and execution for packaging and print across every SKU. You’ll shape the box, the card, and the clip-strip feel as thoughtfully as the product inside it.

A portfolio showing relevant work is required; please include a link. You’ll develop packaging concepts, CADs, die-lines, and production-ready art while balancing cost targets with feasibility at scale, collaborating across teams to reinforce Claire’s brand

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Product Design, or related field.
• 4–7 years of design experience, including full category ownership.
• Deep knowledge of the product development cycle, costing, and sourcing.
• Strong presentation and cross-functional partnership skills.

Responsibilities

• Own packaging and print design direction across all product categories.
• Develop seasonal packaging concepts, structural direction, and print and color direction.
• Build a cohesive packaging point of view that reinforces Claire's brand identity at every touchpoint.
• Create detailed packaging CADs, die-lines, and production-ready art.
• Select substrates, finishes, and embellishments; partner with Product Development on samples.
• Review print proofs, strike-offs, and color and material approvals.
• Partner with merchandising on packaging strategy across the assortment.
• Present packaging rationale and direction to cross-functional partners.
• Manage revisions and approvals from concept through final production files.
• Maintain awareness of competitor packaging and emerging print and production techniques.
• Monitor TikTok unboxing and packaging-reveal trends to keep Claire's packaging feeling current.
• Balance creative ambition with cost targets and production feasibility at scale.
• Guide the work of the Associate Graphic Designer, Packaging.
