Job summary

Kraft Heinz in Glenview, IL seeks a Senior Engineer, R&D - Design & Innovation to advance packaging concepts from concept through commercialization. You will help translate consumer insights into viable packaging options and work across Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure scale-up readiness.

Responsibilities include leading design initiatives, developing tests, and coordinating with external design partners.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD degree in Design, Engineering, Packaging Engineering preferred or related discipline.
• Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience (with BS) or 3+ years (with MS) or 2+ years (with PhD).
• Experience in R&D packaging development and commercialization with innovation and packaging design and project leadership.
• Working knowledge of materials, formats, converting processes, printing, bottle closures and manufacturing constraints.
• Experience in end-to-end development and launch activities, including planning experiments and coordinating with cross-functional partners.
• Knowledge of packaging design and innovation, DVF as a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of Design & Innovation initiatives, addressing technical and design hurdles, driving speed to market.
• Manage initiatives with different scopes across platforms.
• Partner with legal to build IP strategies for competitive advantage.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and budgets, building business cases.
• Work with Marketing, Procurement, Operations and Supply Chain and vendors.
• Support prototyping and pilot line setup for commercialization.
• Document learnings and support training content and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into testable options.
