Job summary

The Kraft Heinz Company at the Glenview R&D Center seeks a Sr Scientist in R&D – Packaging Development to lead packaging projects from concept to commercialization. You will partner with cross-functional teams to design tests, analyze data, and translate research into market-ready packaging solutions.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience (or higher degrees with commensurate experience). Occasional travel up to 30% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree plus minimum 3 years, or PhD plus 2 years
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, packaging equipment/materials interaction, and packaging lab test methods
• Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead, coach and motivate others
• Proven track record of leading packaging projects from concept through commercialization
• Understanding of end-to-end commercialization for new product launches
• Experience with packaging specification systems and data accuracy

Responsibilities

• Lead and support packaging projects spanning innovation, commercialization, cost savings, and ESG
• Drive execution across multiple projects with cross-functional teams
• Design and execute tests, analyze data, and communicate results
• Prioritize multiple assignments and manage timelines
• Complete packaging testing, qualification and commercialization with lab/production teams
• Translate research findings into business opportunities and communicate across teams
• Adapt scientific principles to new products and update packaging specifications
