Job summary

Adept Group is seeking a Packaging Compliance & Regulatory Manager to provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for packaging regulatory compliance across a broad product portfolio. You will guide regulatory risk assessments, compliance documentation, and collaboration with R&D and supply chain to drive sustainable packaging initiatives.

The role is hybrid with flexibility for offsite work while remaining available for onsite collaboration as needed, located in Lewis Center, Ohio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Regulatory Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of packaging regulatory affairs experience in food, beverage, CP G, or regulated industry.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, food-contact requirements, and sustainability regulations.
• Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and reviewing supplier compliance documentation.
• Experience analyzing large data sets, validating data accuracy, and resolving discrepancies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and lead across functions without direct authority.
• Advanced degree in a relevant scientific/technical/regulatory field preferred.
• Experience with global or multi-market packaging portfolios and international frameworks preferred.
• Experience with packaging compliance, product lifecycle management, or regulatory information systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory compliance assessments for packaging materials, components, suppliers, and changes.
• Interpret and apply food-contact, chemical, sustainability, labeling, and end-of-life requirements.
• Partner with Packaging R&D and cross-functional teams on innovation, commercialization, cost savings, and sustainability initiatives.
• Assess regulatory risks and develop practical recommendations and mitigation strategies.
• Maintain packaging compliance documentation, including supplier declarations, specs, and test reports.
• Monitor emerging packaging regulations and translate changes into actionable guidance and plans.
• Support EPR, recycled content, recyclability, packaging waste and end-of-life labeling requirements.
• Analyze packaging data and collaborate with IT for improved accuracy and reporting.
• Provide regulatory guidance, training, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
