Job summary

UFP Industries in North Carolina seeks a Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter with an entrepreneurial mindset to grow a profitable excess P&C book. You will develop broker relationships, solicit target accounts, and craft underwriting programs in a production underwriter capacity.

You’ll analyze trends, price risk, and ensure compliance while meeting profitability and written premium targets, collaborating with internal partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in insurance, finance, economics or related field strongly preferred.
• Ten or more years of commercial underwriting and/or marketing experience.
• CPCU certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced trend analytics and pricing recommendations to manage new business pipeline and renewals based on account analysis and industry trend.
• Gathers, organizes and assesses data needed to manage risk/exposures.
• Meet profitability, account retention, and written premium goals determined by the Director of Underwriting.
• Make independent underwriting decisions based on established underwriting guidelines and company policies.
• Develop and adjust policy structure to ensure they meet the needs of clients while managing the Company’s risk and financial performance.
• Ensure all underwriting activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
• Maintain detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made.
