Job summary

American Electric Power in Victoria, TX is seeking a P&C Technician Sr to install, test and maintain protection and control devices and related equipment across stations and SCADA systems. You will perform acceptance tests, calibrations, and troubleshooting under supervision, and support emergency restoration efforts.

The role requires an associate degree in electrical/related tech or equivalent experience, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

Associate-level education in electrical tech or related field or equivalent experience.
Equivalent education/experience may be accepted per hiring manager.

Responsibilities

Assist in tests, installation and maintenance of protection, control and measurement devices.
Assist with installation and operation of power line carrier, SCADA and communications equipment.
Perform switching under supervision and maintain test equipment and records.
Calibrate/diagnose equipment and support safe, efficient work across the system.
Adhere to safety rules, regulatory requirements and environmental practices.
