Farm Family is seeking a Senior P&C Data Scientist to lead the development and refinement of pricing models and analytics that drive risk segmentation and rate adequacy. You will collaborate with pricing actuaries, underwriting, and IT to translate business questions into analytical solutions, implement models in pricing workflows, and monitor performance over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, computer science, data science, or a related quantitative field
• Five years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, pricing, actuarial, or related roles. A master's degree may be considered in lieu of one to two years of experience
• Advanced proficiency in analytical programming languages and tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
• Experience working with large, complex datasets and applying statistical or machine learning methods to real‑world business problems
• Strong analytical judgment, problem‑solving ability, and communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently and own complex analytical models

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end analytical lifecycle for pricing initiatives: data exploration, feature engineering, model building, validation, implementation, monitoring
• Apply statistical and ML techniques for pricing use cases, balancing performance and interpretability
• Design validation frameworks to assess model performance and business impact
• Translate analyses into actionable insights and influence pricing decisions
• Partner with actuarial, underwriting, distribution, and product stakeholders
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices and standards
