Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc is looking for an experienced Owner's Engineer to oversee electrical substation projects. This part-time position allows for flexibility, averaging 20+ hours per week.

The ideal candidate will have over 15 years in high-voltage substation engineering, with responsibilities that include reviewing engineering deliverables and mentoring junior staff. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred. The role allows for hybrid and remote options depending on candidate qualifications.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in high-voltage (HV) electric substation engineering.
• Experience working directly for a utility is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with relay coordination, control schemes, and schematic design.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering deliverables for compliance with project requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and check their work.
• Advocate for project owners during design and construction phases.
