Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Overhead Electrical Transmission Engineer to lead technical delivery on electric overhead transmission projects and mentor junior staff.

This role supports the Electric Overhead Transmission Team in Denver, Tucson, or Atlanta with full remote capabilities and optional on-site work near CHA offices. You will oversee complex designs, provide expert input, and manage client relationships while driving grid resiliency and energy efficiency initiatives across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Expert knowledge of overhead transmission engineering disciplines.
• Proficiency with design software (PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation).
• Strong QA/QC and regulatory knowledge.
• Experience with Xcel Energy or Tucson Electric Power preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for electric overhead transmission infrastructure.
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues in various areas of electric overhead transmission.
• Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions that enhance grid resiliency and energy efficiency.
• Engage with clients to grow our established relationships, offer them additional services, and take on exciting opportunities.
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints.
• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support.
• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies.

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Senior Overhead Electrical Transmission Engineer to join our Electric Overhead Transmission Team in or around Denver, CO; Tucson, AZ; or Atlanta, GA, as a technical leader and mentor. This position offers fully remote capabilities; however, occasional on-site responsibilities may be required if you are located near a CHA office.

What You'll Do

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required


• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required


• Professional Engineer (PE) license required


• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices across various areas


• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)


• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws


• Experience supporting utility projects for clients such as Xcel Energy (Denver) or Tucson Electric Power (TEP) preferred


• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range

$120,000 - $135,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
