Job summary

Valar Atomics, a bold energy startup, seeks an experienced engineer to turn defined objectives into implementable, tested systems. You will plan tests, diagnose faults, and deliver verified results with clear handoff records, collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team.

You will work on OT engineering infrastructure, including power, racks, networking, and industrial software backends, with travel to the Orangeville, UT facility about 15% of the time.

Qualifications

• Ability to deliver implementation or hands-on tests from defined objectives.
• Plan methods, interfaces, dependencies, resources, testing, and turnover.
• Diagnose problems using measurements or logs; verify corrective actions.
• Maintain controlled configurations and usable records; coordinate interfaces.
• Demonstrate expertise in at least one specialty listed.

Responsibilities

• Turn defined objectives into practical implementation or test plans covering prerequisites, equipment or configuration needs, dependencies, tests, and recovery steps.
• Independently implement and operate systems, or prepare, execute, and diagnose system tests within the assigned scope.
• Diagnose difficult faults using measurements, logs, test results, and system behavior; verify that corrective action resolves the problem.
• Plan and execute commissioning, failure, and recovery tests with clear acceptance criteria.
• Resolve integration issues with other engineers and identify when requirements or designs need revision.
• Complete delivery with accurate configurations, executable procedures, test evidence, and usable handoff records.
• Travel to our Torrance facility approximately 15% of the time.
