Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Lead OT Security Engineer to protect manufacturing systems and industrial networks. you will design and implement cybersecurity controls, monitor risks, and mentor engineers across global sites.

The role requires strong OT security expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to work in production environments with travel. The position emphasizes designing secure architectures, reducing cyber risk, and guiding sites through cybersecurity improvements

Qualifications

• Four or more years of cybersecurity experience in manufacturing or OT environments.
• Strong understanding of industrial control environments and networks.
• Experience with security technologies (firewalls, IDS, endpoint security, SIEM).
• Ability to design cybersecurity controls with safety and uptime in mind.
• Experience cross-functional collaboration with IT, engineering, and vendors.
• Excellent written documentation and diagramming skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cybersecurity architectures for manufacturing systems.
• Develop secure network segmentation and vendor remote access strategies.
• Troubleshoot issues with vendor access, networks, and security controls.
• Support sites during implementations, remediations, and incident response.
• Lead OT cybersecurity improvement initiatives across sites.
• Assess risks and prioritize remediation by business impact and safety.
• Create technical docs, diagrams, and implementation guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed cybersecurity into the lifecycle.
