Job summary

Colorado State University’s Orthopedic Surgery Veterinary Technician II/III role seeks experienced RVTs to lead care for orthopedic patients, mentor students, and coordinate clinical workflows. The position emphasizes perioperative nursing, surgical support, and collaboration across veterinarians, techs, and staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current RVT certification recognized in Colorado or ability to acquire at hire.
• 2+ years of working experience in veterinary medicine (VT II).
• 3+ years of working experience in veterinary medicine (VT III).
• CACVT/DORA certification requirements must be met per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and technical support for orthopedic patients in perioperative care.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, students, clients and interdisciplinary teams; mentor trainees.
• Support daily clinical workflows; maintain accurate documentation and prepare equipment and supplies.
• Provide intraoperative and postoperative orthopedic care and assist with surgeries.
• Lead and coordinate assignments; oversee workflow to ensure resources are available for patient care.
