Job summary

University of California- Davis Health seeks a Senior Orthopedic Technician to join the Sports Medicine clinical care team in Sacramento and at the Edwards Family Athletics Center in Davis. This role provides advanced orthopedic technical services and specialized procedural support to patients and care providers.

As part of a collaborative team, you will support treatment and procedures while delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care, under supervision as required by LIP policy.

Qualifications

• Valid Orthopedic Technologist Certification and/or two years of Orthopedic technical work.
• AHA/ACLS BLS or UC Davis Health CPR certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Summary

The Senior Orthopedic Technician is an experienced member of the Sports Medicine clinical care team, providing advanced orthopedic technical services and specialized procedural support to patients and medical care providers. Working within the full scope of applicable certification and formal training, the Senior Orthopedic Technician performs a comprehensive range of orthopedic procedures, applies specialized technical expertise, and supports the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals, the Senior Orthopedic Technician serves as a knowledgeable clinical resource while supporting treatment, procedures, and an exceptional patient experience. This position supports the Sports Medicine service line across the Sacramento (C Street) location and the Edwards Family Athletics Center in Davis, based on operational needs.

Clinical duties performed within the Orthopedic Technician scope of practice are supervised by a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) as required. Clinic and Department management provide direction for administrative responsibilities and functions that do not require LIP supervision.
