Job summary

HonorHealth’s AZ Orthopedic Sports Medicine Center seeks a Sr Scheduler-Surgical to manage scheduling of complex surgical and radiology procedures, coordinate preoperative education, and gather essential patient data for accurate registration and billing.

You will verify insurance, obtain approvals, and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth operation and timely patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates in related healthcare field preferred.
• 1 year of related experience in healthcare scheduling/clerical with ICD10, CPT coding knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries and high-level procedures with physician privileges and block times.
• Registers patients and collects demographic, medical and financial information.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains prior approval for preoperative testing.
• Coordinates preoperative classes, education and testing appointments.
• Processes pre-registration accounts 24–48 hours prior to admission.
• Distributes registration documents and obtains signatures for authorization and financial responsibility.
• Runs daily reports to support charge audits and ensure accurate charging for surgical services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
