Job summary

Merit Medical Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage Oracle EBS and SQL Server databases, perform backups, security, and performance tuning in a Linux environment.

The role includes patching, cloning, maintenance, and upgrades for Oracle and SQL Server, with emphasis on reliability and DR/BC testing. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of related experience, and DBA certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and eight years related experience.
• Experience supporting Oracle EBS.
• Oracle and/or Microsoft DBA Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of Linux.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with others.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manages disk space requirements for data growth and indexes.
• Backup/recovery, performance tuning, security, patching, cloning, maintenance, upgrades for Oracle DB.
• Oracle EBS patching, cloning, maintenance.
• Backup/Recovery, installation and maintenance for SQL Server.
• Install/configure patches and upgrades for Linux systems.
• Monitor database resource utilization.
• Perform database backups and monitor backup processes.
• Implement redundancy and distributed data strategies.
• Test/validate disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Restore databases and maintain performance.
• Develop and implement backup/recovery procedures.
• Test/maintain routine database maintenance tasks.
• Create storage of procedures and objects inside databases.
• Install database and application patches and tools.
