Job summary

TechFlow Inc in Montgomery, AL is seeking an experienced Database Engineer / Oracle DBA to support a mission-critical DoD software modernization program. The role focuses on administration, security, performance, and lifecycle management of Oracle databases in enterprise environments, aligned with Agile software development and DevSecOps practices.

The candidate will install, monitor, tune, secure, backup, and recover Oracle databases, implement CI/CD-aware deployment scripts, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, and manage Oracle database environments.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Tune performance, indexing, query optimization, and capacity planning.
• Implement and maintain database security controls, including encryption and auditing in line with DoD requirements.
• Develop backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to meet RPO and RTO requirements.
• Design and maintain database schema changes using version-controlled migration scripts integrated with CI/CD.
• Automate deployment scripts to be repeatable and environment-agnostic.
• Maintain configuration management documentation and version control.
• Support end-to-end traceability of database requirements through implementation and testing.
• Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database structures and support modernization.
• Support ETL processes, data integration, and data dictionary documentation.
• Participate in troubleshooting production issues and continuous improvement of database operations.
• Ensure compliance with security, quality, documentation, and configuration management standards.
