Job summary

West 4th Strategy seeks a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to serve as the senior technical resource for Oracle database administration at the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO).

You will manage backups, configurations, troubleshooting, and capacity planning, while handling RFCs and ServiceNow tickets under SLAs. The role requires extensive Oracle expertise, Grid and RMAN knowledge, and cross-platform experience, with a remote-friendly location within the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience administering Oracle Database in enterprise production environments.
• Familiarity with Oracle Grid and Oracle RMAN technologies.
• Experience with daily operations, monitoring, and issue triage for Oracle database environments, including system setup, configuration, error diagnosis, and resolution.
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) for request lifecycle management from submission to closeout.
• Familiarity with database monitoring/capacity planning tools (e.g., Idera, SolarWinds, or equivalent).
• Ability to execute RFCs under formal change management processes and meet SLAs.
• Experience troubleshooting database issues and application-level integrations connected to Oracle backends.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical resource for all Oracle database administration, troubleshooting, and configuration.
• Support proactive capacity planning and system health monitoring for Oracle database environments.
• Manage and resolve RFCs and ServiceNow tickets in accordance with operational SLAs.
• Assist internal customers/users with building, configuring, and troubleshooting Oracle databases.
• Troubleshoot database issues (Oracle, and cross-platform where applicable) and application-level integrations tied to Oracle backends.
• Produce weekly support activity reports documenting work performed and outcomes.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
