Job summary

The Department of Administrative Services in Salem, Oregon seeks an Oracle Database Administrator (ISS8) to join the Middleware team in Data Center Services. Hybrid in Salem, OR.

You will manage Oracle and DB2 databases, ensure data integrity, and collaborate across agencies to deliver reliable IT services to state customers. Responsibilities include diagnosing complex issues in an AIX environment, onboarding customers to the AIX/Oracle/DB2 stack, automating tasks, and contributing to disaster

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of information systems experience in Oracle database administration.
• An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two-year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND five (5) years of information systems experience in Oracle database administration.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND three (3) years of information systems experience in Oracle database administration; OR
• Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in Oracle database administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stability and performance of Oracle/DB2 databases in an AIX environment.
• Onboard customers into the AIX (Oracle and DB2) environment and provide expert-level support.
• Coordinate solutions between multiple agencies and stakeholders.
• Identify and automate processes for on-premise and cloud solutions.
• Architect the Oracle/DB2 database environment to meet DAS and customer needs.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation for Oracle services.
• Backup duties related to DB2 as needed.
