Job summary

BNY in Boston is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to join the Data and Analytics team. You will manage hundreds of Oracle databases on Linux, monitor availability, perform backups, and tune performance.

The role requires 10+ years IT experience in Oracle databases, experience with RMAN, Data Guard, RAC, Exadata, and strong scripting skills. Hybrid in-office schedule with on-call rotations in Boston.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of IT experience managing Oracle databases in Linux environments.
• Experience with design/modification of structures in Oracle/SQL Server databases.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities across multiple technical environments.
• Solid understanding of Oracle architecture and internals; experience with Oracle 12c/19c.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administration and support for hundreds of Oracle databases (monitoring, maintenance, patching, upgrades).
• Respond to client issues and support requests in collaboration with internal teams.
• Monitor database availability, space, and performance.
• Perform backup and restoration of databases using RMAN.
• Tune SQL statements and implement architecture changes to improve performance.
• Standardize and automate environment management where possible.
• Provide on-call support on a rotating schedule.
• Evaluate new features and functionality for potential adoption.
• Set up and maintain Oracle GoldenGate services for data replication.
