Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle DBA with 10 to 12 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Linux, Oracle Golden Gate, and other Oracle databases. The Senior Oracle DBA will play a crucial role in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions that support our business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Expert in database & SQL performance tuning for oracle databases.
• Designs and maintains access and security administration.
• Designs, implements, and maintains backup and recovery strategies on Database Management Systems.
• Supports multiple services and databases of medium complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility of data.
• Designs, installs, configures, and maintains High Availability (RAC, RAC One Node, Data Guard, etc.) Database solutions.
• Expertise in setup using OEM as a monitoring and diagnostics tool and identifies/resolves performance issues.
• Troubleshoots alerts (alert log, Jobs, Disk Group, Tablespace, etc.) and performance issues.
• Performs capacity planning of Oracle server environment and provides recommendations to management to sustain business growth.
• Designs, implements, maintains Disaster Recovery (DR) methodologies and creates documentation.
• Gathers business requirements and designs, implements multiple projects along with the production support.
• Creates standard operational procedures and templates.
• Acts as mentor for Database Administrators and Associate Database Administrators.
• Performs research and provides plans to remediate complex business problems.
• Assists the development teams to improve database design and procedures on PL/SQL best practices.
• Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements.

Qualifications

• Possess extensive experience in Linux administration and management.
• Have in-depth knowledge of Oracle Golden Gate for data replication.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in Oracle database administration.
• Show proficiency in infrastructure design and implementation.
• Exhibit excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Have a solid understanding of security best practices.
• Display strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Be capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Have experience in documenting infrastructure configurations and procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Be able to mentor and guide junior team members.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Possess a proactive and results-oriented mindset.

Certifications Required

Oracle Certified Professional, Linux Professional Institute Certification.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $73,350 - $133,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
