Job summary

TekSynap is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to support the DLA Enterprise Database Infrastructure Services. The role requires extensive Oracle expertise, secret clearance, and DoD-compliant practices.

You will lead design, upgrades, and security efforts, working with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable database solutions. We offer a full-time, on-site role at Fort Belvoir with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance with IT-I Sensitivity.
• 10+ years in database administration and infrastructure management focusing on Oracle databases.
• DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Level II certifications such as CCNP Security, CySA, GICSP, GSEC, GCIH, Security+, CND, SSCP.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP 19c or above).
• Experience in DoD or Federal Oracle or enterprise database environments.
• Proven leadership of Oracle database infrastructure projects from conception to completion.
• Expertise in Oracle Database Server administration (installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery).
• Knowledge of Oracle architecture, high availability, disaster recovery, and replication technologies.
• Hands-on with OEM 13c for monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and optimization of Oracle database infrastructures for scalability and performance.
• Mentor DBAs and engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain database standards, policies, and procedures aligned with best practices and regulations.
• Perform capacity planning, monitoring, and optimization for resource efficiency.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to design integrated database solutions.
• Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Lead upgrade, patching, and migration projects with minimal downtime.
• Implement HA/DR solutions including clustering, replication, backup, and recovery.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
• Evaluate emerging database technologies and recommend adoption or integration.
• Engage with vendors and partners to evaluate and implement tools and solutions.
• Develop training programs, workshops, and documentation for stakeholders.
