Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead Database Administrator/Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for the on-premises Oracle database environment supporting GEOINT product dissemination and expurgation processing. The role leads architecture, administration, security, performance, availability, and lifecycle management of mission-critical Oracle databases.

Qualifications

10+ years of Oracle database administration and engineering experience, including 3+ years in a lead or senior technical role.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a Polygraph post hire
Sec+ certification (or DoD 8140-compliant equivalent for the assigned work role)
Extensive hands-on experience administering on-premises Oracle Database.
Strong experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and Grid Infrastructure.
Advanced SQL skills, including schemas, stored procedures, and database constructs.
Demonstrated performance tuning experience.
Experience implementing DISA STIGs, database auditing, encryption, and privileged access controls in a secure environment.
Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting (Bash/ksh) at the database-host level.
Understanding of cross-domain data management and security protocols (NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS).
Strong public-speaking skills and experience delivering briefings and presenting technical concepts to leadership and customers.

Responsibilities

Lead the Oracle database administration and engineering for on-premises environments (production, test, development).
Design, build, configure, and maintain Oracle DB environments.
Administer spatial data stores and enterprise geodatabase integration for GEOINT content accuracy.
Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions.
Apply quarterly patches and maintain security baselines, auditing, and encryption.
Develop automation for routine tasks using shell, SQL, Python, and Ansible.
Lead root-cause analysis for incidents and drive preventive actions.
Collaborate across offices and security domains for consistent configurations and secure data movement.
Provide technical direction, mentor staff, and deliver briefings to leadership and customers.
