Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Logical Database Administrator / Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain the TIERS databases. This on-site role requires deep Oracle experience and collaboration with agile teams to deliver scalable data solutions for eligibility systems.

You will work with Oracle 11g/19c and PostGreSQL, monitor performance, implement tuning, and provide production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IS, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years logical database administration in enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting Oracle 11g/19c and PostgreSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Own database design, development, tuning, and maintenance for TIERS applications.
• Collaborate with dev teams and stakeholders to implement new data solutions.
• Build and optimize databases using Java/J2EE, REST/SOAP services, and Oracle stacks.
• Provide production triage, incident response, and on-call support as needed.
• Participate in Agile backlog grooming and story development.
• Ensure data security, integrity, and scalable performance across environments.
