Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Logical Database Administrator / Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain TIERS databases. You will work with Java, WebSphere, Oracle, PostGreSQL, and various platforms to ensure high availability and scalability of enterprise applications.

Responsibilities include performance tuning, backlog grooming in Agile contexts, and collaborating with development teams to deliver robust database solutions.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited College or University with a bachelor’s degree; highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day application-specific database design for TIERS applications, including data structures, performance, security, and recovery.
• Provide database support for web-based Java applications in a SOA platform; analyze defects and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with development teams, stakeholders, and partners to enhance TIERS applications and implement new solutions.
• Configure and monitor alerts; plan for data growth and capacity; ensure data integrity and security.
• Attend design/code/test walkthroughs; ensure adherence to technical standards and customer requirements.
