Job Details

Position: Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Washington, DC

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, full-time onsite, 8 hours/day, start times between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Occasional weekend support may be required. Telework is not available.

Role Overview

Support a dedicated client, troubleshooting and resolving database issues independently. Collaborate with a team of DBAs, maintain proactive communication, and support medium-to-large Oracle databases, leveraging your expertise to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot Oracle 19c databases in physical and virtual environments.
• Perform upgrades, apply patches, and validate backup/restore operations with RMAN.
• Monitor and resolve performance issues, analyze logs, and optimize system health.
• Support Kubernetes clusters and leverage tools like Grafana for monitoring.
• Develop deployment plans, communicate with clients and management, and occasionally travel to client sites.
• Assist with hardware tasks such as racking and cabling.

Supported Environments

• Oracle 19c databases on physical hardware, with sizes ranging from 5TB to over 1.5PB, including Data Guard configurations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility within the past two years.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent experience.
• At least one DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program certification at IAT Level II or higher.
• Ability to obtain necessary work authorizations per U.S. ITAR/EAR regulations.
• Minimum of 8 years supporting Oracle databases as described.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GovCloud, Google Cloud).
• Experience with N-Tier architecture, Java application servers.
• Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP, OCM), and certifications from Cisco, McAfee, Microsoft, Red Hat, etc.

Additional Information

Salary range: $129,029.52 - $187,530.72 USD, with benefits including flexible PTO, 401k match, healthcare contributions. We encourage candidates who meet most requirements to apply, as we value diverse experiences and skills.
