We are recruiting to fill a Senior Oracle Database Administrator position is responsible for installation and configuguration of the database software, research and planning of new releases and upgrades, and supporting the deployed products. They perform hands-on database administration including the maintenance, backup, recovery, tuning and monitoring of all databases. This role requires a proactive approach to risk management, particularly concerning information security risks, and ensures optimal database performance through tuning and maintenance. In addition they are able to work as the highest level support engineer with knowledge and ability to respond to on-call situations.
Manages and maintains all organizational Oracle Windows, Linux, and Exadata Systems that utilize technologies including RAC, ASM, Active Data Guard, and RMAN to complete and validate backups, monitor performance and troubleshooting errors
Develops and executes database strategies to ensure data integrity and availability, including backup, restore, restart and recovery routines
Monitors performance, service-level adherence and trends to alert management, development and operations teams about runtime performance problems
Creates and maintains database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions
Plans and executes database installs, updates and migrations to new hosts, working closely with technical teams to ensure minimal downtime and impact on users
Collaborates with vendors to resolve database-related issues and implement new features
Responds to customer tickets; identifies problems, presents solutions and resolves problems
Uses, creates and modifies utility programs and scripts
Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in computer science, computer programming, systems analysis and design, or network design and configuration, and 5 years of experience with primary responsibility for the configuration of computer hardware or software in a mainframe, midrange and computer environment or with installation and configuration of operation systems, network design and configuration, installing and configuring software applications and 2 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator;
or
Two years of experience as a Orace Database Administrator with the Office of State Courts Administrator.
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
