Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Opto‑Mechanical & Sensor DFX Engineer to own end-to-end opto‑mechanical and sensor assembly design for the TeraWave modules. You will bridge precision optical alignment, sensor integration, mechanical packaging, and volume production readiness in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 10+ years of opto-mechanical design, sensor integration, or precision assembly in high-volume environments.
• Experience with precision optical alignment, tight tolerances, and thermal-mechanical considerations; proficiency in CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead opto-mechanical assembly design for optical modules and sensor subsystems.
• Develop alignment procedures, tooling, bonding, and integration workflows for manufacturability.
• Manage BOMs, vendor coordination, tolerances, and production readiness reviews.
