Job summary

Infleqtion seeks a Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and integration of precision opto-mechanical subsystems for scalable quantum hardware, including lasers, optics, and PICs. You will work with physicists and engineers to advance design-for-manufacture and successful transitions from research prototypes to repeatable production.

PhD or Master’s plus practical hands-on lab experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, modeling, and validating laser-based opto-mechanical systems for high-performance hardware.
• Strong hands-on lab track record with lab equipment and measurement techniques.
• Ability to own design decisions and drive manufacturability and assembly considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own opto-mechanical subsystems within an established hardware architecture and identify risks and long-term scalability constraints.
• Design and integrate precision components and assemblies for lasers, optics, and photonics in quantum hardware.
• Collaborate with physicists and engineers across disciplines to support full lifecycle development from research to scalable hardware.
• Develop design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly practices using data-driven methods and root-cause investigations.
