Job summary

Acro Service Corp is seeking a mechanical designer to create and document components and assemblies in collaboration with engineering staff. You will perform design calculations, initiate concepts, layouts, and produce manufacturing drawings with tolerances, finishes, and materials.

Candidate should have 4+ years SolidWorks experience, knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T, and familiarity with fabrication methods including conventional machining and additive manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical/mechanisms, optical-mechanical, electronic packaging or structural.
• Knowledge of mechanical fabrication and assembly techniques including conventional machining of metal; additive manufacturing considered.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 GD&T and MIL-Specs; knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Minimum 4 years of SolidWorks design experience.
• Ability to develop concepts, layouts, and basic calculations to support designs.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to present results.

Responsibilities

• Design and document mechanical components and assemblies with tolerances, finishes, and materials.
• Prepare engineering release/revision documentation and fabrication orders.
• Support fabrication and assembly processes as required.
• Perform design calculations and develop initial concepts, layouts, and finished drawings.
