Lead technical programs, define requirements, coordinate with vendors and customers, and mentor engineers while traveling as needed. A strong background in physics and math supports design evaluation and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s in engineering or equivalent technology field; master’s or PhD preferred.
• 8+ years’ hands-on engineering experience; at least 6 in Optics.
• Experience with motion-tracking integration into AR devices.
• Excellent organizational skills and work ethic.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
• Effective communication and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Understand AR HMD marketspace and customer needs.
• Develop and maintain a network of vendor and customer contacts.
• Attend conferences and symposia as a subject-matter expert.
• Design and develop optical components of head-mounted displays (waveguides, projectors).
• Test and analyze optical component performance in lab.
• Provide technical support on proposals and customer interactions.
• Interact with customers and vendors at a technical level.
• Lead vendor management and project milestones.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
