Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services LLC seeks an Optical Network Technology Planning Engineer to join the DISA team at Ft Meade, MD. You will develop deployment and wavelength plans for the DoD’s global optical transport network, translating service requirements into hardware configurations and routing plans for operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in planning transport networks (DWDM/OTN).
• Familiar with ITU-T, OIF and IETF standards.
• Active Secret clearance or higher, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop deployment plans and wavelength plans for DISA networks.
• Assess service requirements and translate into hardware deployment and routing plans.
• Interface with DISA operations and vendors during implementation.
• Support DoD modernization efforts and hardware/service transitions.
• Utilize planning tools (One Planner, Transport Planner, MCP/Navigator).
