Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services LLC in Fort Meade, MD seeks IP and Optical Network Test Engineers to support a future DoD contract. The role covers DISN transport systems, MPLS services, and security-focused testing across backbone networks.

Responsibilities include design review, lab testing, deployment planning, and Tier III support for NIPRNet/SIPRNet. Strong IP/Optical, MPLS, ISIS/BGP and testing experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Networking, Telecommunications, or related area required.
• DoD 8570-01-M IAT Level I or higher (e.g., A+ CE, CCNA-Security, Network+ CE, SSCP, CISSP).
• Extensive experience in IP or Optical Networking.
• Experience with backbone routers and testing gear (ISIS, BGP/MP-BGP, MPLS).

Responsibilities

• Provide design review, lab testing, and deployment of DoD networks.
• Implement MPLS services on DISN network (L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS).
• Certify and support optical systems (DWDM, OTN, OTU, O-VPNs).
• Conduct security design, testing, and deployment for NIPRNET/SIPRNET.
• Perform security audits, risk/threat analysis, and contingency planning.
• Deliver router/firewall test plans and implementation guidance.
• Provide Tier III engineering support and field lessons learned.
