Job summary

PROMET International Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Senior Optical Engineering Technician to support assembly, testing and troubleshooting of precision optomechanical systems.

You will work with engineering on prototypes and production, following QA standards and documentation requirements. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in optical or precision instrument assembly, strong metrology and DFM skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a small team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production or assembly of optical or precision instruments.
• Experience with optical technology preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical prints and specifications.
• Detail-oriented with strong QA and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot precision optomechanical prototypes and subassemblies.
• Complete production project work following manufacturing procedures and QA requirements.
• Develop assembly, testing, and inspection procedures to improve quality and efficiency.
• Develop fixturing and testing setups.
• Fabricate/modify components using milling machines and lathes.
• Perform in-process testing and outgoing inspection.
• Maintain lab facilities and organize tools.
• Document customer required documentation for finished products.
• Follow SOPs and collaborate in a small technical team.
