Job summary

Ciena Corporation is seeking a Network Solutions Engineer (Optical Engineer) to be onsite at Vandenberg Space Force Base. You will lead design, test planning, and deployment support to ensure seamless interoperability with the customer’s legacy network.

The role requires deep expertise in SONET, DWDM, ROADM/nOADM, IP/MPLS/L3, and NMS systems, plus US citizenship and an active security clearance. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Active Security Clearance (Top Secret preferred).
• Extensive experience with Ciena products and optical networks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to understand project requirements and design network architecture.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate equipment functionality and performance.
• Provide guidance and training on Ciena NMS and provisioning processes.
• Document configurations, provisioning steps, and test results for deliverables.
