Job summary

Ciena Government Solutions Inc. is seeking a Network Solutions Engineer to provide on-site support at a key customer site in Illinois.

You will lead test planning, deployment, and network modernization efforts, acting as the SME for Ciena products and configurations. The role requires strong design and interoperability skills, knowledge of SONET/DWDM, Ethernet, and IP/MPLS/L3, plus hands-on lab and field experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience with Ciena products and platforms a must.
• Ability to work onsite with capability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and execute test plans for equipment interoperability in customer networks.
• Provide onsite engineering support and SME guidance for network modernization efforts.
• Turn up and configure Ciena systems, document results, and train customers on NMS operations.
