KYOCERA SLD Laser, Inc. in Tucson, AZ is seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to design, analyze, prototype, and validate optical systems for advanced laser and LED products.

You will perform optical modeling and ray tracing, develop architectures that meet efficiency and beam quality targets, and partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure manufacturability and reliability. Experience with Zemax, LightTools, CODE V is required, and familiarity with ITAR or defense programs is a plus.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of optical design experience for laser/LED products.
• Strong knowledge of geometrical and physical optics, illumination, and laser beam propagation.

Mansioni

• Design and develop custom optical systems and components for laser and LED packages.
• Perform optical modeling, ray tracing, and simulations using Zemax/LightTools/CODE V.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, process, and manufacturing teams for package integration.
