Senior Optical Engineer
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Optical Engineer with expertise in complex routing and multicast video distribution systems. If you’re excited about joining a rapidly growing team and working on innovative projects, this is your chance to make an impact!
This role will primarily support a long-term project in Florida, as well as the client’s backend networks and systems. This job is primarily remote, you can be based anywhere in the Continental US, but you’ll need to travel to Fort Myers, FL, and other locations occasionally for meetings, site visits, and customer support. Some travel outside the US may be required. You must be a US Citizen and able to pass a security screening.

What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Optical Network Engineer, you’ll leverage your expertise in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting DWDM and OTN networks. This includes configuring optical network components and working with industry-leading platforms such as Nokia PSS 1830. If you’re not already experienced with Nokia equipment, you’ll have the opportunity to learn quickly and obtain relevant certifications.
This role involves leading the deployment of new optical networks, collaborating with vendors, and serving as a key technical liaison. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external customers, providing engineering support and ensuring seamless project execution. Travel for customer meetings, site visits, and deployments is required, primarily in Florida, with potential travel to other locations within the Continental US (CONUS) and Outside the Continental US (OCONUS).

As a mid-level engineer, you’ll need a comprehensive understanding of DWDM and OTN core networks and the ability to manage projects independently. Strong project management and troubleshooting skills are essential to meet deadlines and maintain performance standards.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Telecommunications, or a related field is required. A graduate degree may substitute for professional experience on a year-for-year basis.

This position offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, commission, and bonus. On-target earnings (OTE) exceed $175,000+, with uncapped potential based on project outcomes and experience. Stock options are also included for all employees.
