Salary Range: $165,000 - $375,000

Compensation and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000 - $375,000, plus bonus eligibility and other elements of our total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will depend on factors such as location, skills, experience, and education. In addition to base pay, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

About the Department

The bnsf | tech department drives innovation and efficiency by developing and maintaining advanced technological solutions across the network. This team ensures a robust IT infrastructure, supports critical applications, and enhances cybersecurity measures. Their expertise is essential in optimizing operations and enabling BNSF to deliver reliable, cutting-edge transportation services.

Position Type and Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient full-stack SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.
  2. Enhance existing UI5 applications, customize standard Fiori apps, build reusable UI components, and improve Fiori Launchpad configurations.
  3. Perform ABAP development tasks across various SAP modules, including design, coding, testing, and debugging.
  4. Optimize the performance of SAP UI5 apps, ABAP programs, and interfaces.
  5. Develop integration solutions using SAP Integration Suite, connecting SAP systems with third-party systems, external databases, and cloud applications.
  6. Maintain and enhance existing interfaces developed in SAP PO, monitor and troubleshoot flows.
  7. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  8. Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data.
  9. Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve SAP-related issues.
  11. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including testing, documentation, and support.
  12. Support end-to-end integration with SAPUI5/Fiori, OData services, and third-party applications.
  13. Assist in designing and developing HANA views based on business requirements.
  14. Support in creating and optimizing SQL scripts and stored procedures in SAP HANA.
  15. Assist in implementing real-time data transfer solutions using SAP SLT.
  16. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
Basic Qualifications
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in SAP development with enterprise solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Quick learner and adaptable to various SAP modules and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following: SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP Process Orchestration, ABAP, Data Analytics.
  • Specific skills in SAP UI5, ABAP, SAP PO, and Data Analytics as detailed in the original description.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Willingness to waive future assistance for employment-based nonimmigrant status.
  • Functional knowledge of SAP modules like FICO, MM, etc.
  • Familiarity with SAP Integration Suite, SAP Build, SAP BTP, and related technologies.
  • Experience with S/4 Hana, SAP Datasphere, SAC, and machine learning in SAP systems.
  • At least one SAP Certification in BTP, Integration Suite, ABAP in Cloud, or Fiori/UI5.
