Job summary

Qualifications
- Education: BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in precision mechanical design; or 3 years with a Master’s; PhD with limited experience accepted.
- Materials: Hands-on with metals and engineering plastics in precision applications.
- Tools: Proficiency with 3D CAD and FEA tools (SolidWorks, NX, Creo).
Responsibilities
- Design passive optical connector assemblies with sub-micron alignment for fiber-to-PIC.
- Develop sub-micron tolerance control strategies for mechanical and optical performance across temps.
- Create test protocols for static/dynamic loading, fatigue, and environmental stress validation.
- Collaborate with optical engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams for DFM and optical performance.
