Job summary

You’ll partner with R&D, Supplier Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure performance, reliability, quality, cost, and long-term availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in optical engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of optical components and assemblies.
• Experience interpreting optical specifications, drawings, datasheets, and qualification documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between Engineering and Supplier Quality to ensure manufacturability.
• Own component engineering activities related to optical components, including selection, qualification, lifecycle management, and reliability testing.
• Review optical BOMs for performance, reliability, lifecycle, obsolescence, and supply-chain risks.
• Lead qualification plans including optical, mechanical, environmental, and reliability testing.
• Evaluate optical component performance and design margins for product requirements.
• Review optical alignment tolerances, coupling designs, interfaces, and tolerance analyses.
